Unusual and easy to grow, always attracts attention and comment. With its numerous large, long, brightly coloured and slightly weird flowers, few walk past it without being enticed by its curious charm.
Tube: Claret rose with occasional yellow stripes and yellow waist, proportionately very long and slender.
Sepals: Claret rose with greenish yellow tips, held 1/4 up and reflexed at tips
Corolla: Light purple, unflared, petals curve in at edges.

A slightly thickened ring is present between tube and sepals
STAMENS do not extend below corolla with pink (52C) filaments and yellow (18B) anthers
PISTIL extends 10mm (3/8") below corolla with pink (55A) style and dawn pink (49A) stigma

FOLIAGE is dark green (137A) on the upper surface, lighter (138A) on the lower surface with 90mm (3 1/2") long x 40mm (1 (5/8") wide ovate shaped leaves, entire edges, acute tips and bases. Veins are yellow green (154A) with dark yellow green (153A) stems
