Large bunches of gorgeous, very long, bold crimson flowers. Very handsome and vigorous species, ultimately needing a very big pot. The berries of both this and F. boliviana Alba are excellent and widely sold in markets throughout South America for eating fresh or cooked (made into pies, jams etc).

Tube: Bright scarlet, very long, thin. flared.

Sepals: Bright scarlet, short, fully up, reflexed tip.

Corolla: Bold, bright scarlet, 3/4 flared, spoon shaped petals.

Foliage: Large, elongated mid green leaves covered in fine hair.

Section: Fuchsia.
