Mainly grown for its outstanding foliage. For best colour, pinch regularly to keep plenty of young growth coming. Also has attractive flowers.
We have been shown a photo of an old specimen grown for exhibition some years ago, in an enormous pot. The plant was fully 120cm across, and really spectacular.
Tube: Scarlet.
Sepals: Scarlet-rose, held 1/2 down.
Corolla: Purple, little or no flare.
Foliage: Green, yellow, dark red, salmon. Youngest leaves are more bronze, older ones more golden.
