Fabulous basket variety, and a doddle to grow, inheriting good qualities from both parents. In spite of the name, this is a cheery and very lovely self branching fuchsia. It’s always one of the earliest to start flowering, bearing masses of large, elegant, and vividly coloured flowers throughout the season.

Normal bloom colours are much richer than shown in this temporary photo, which was of a plant that was a little too well shaded.

Tube: Pale rosy red 51B, long, slim.

Sepals: Rose 51B above, light green 145D tip, rose 50B below, held 1/2 down, recurved.

Corolla: Dark reddish purple 61A, matures magenta 59C, 1/4 to unflared.

Parentage: Checkerboard x Wilson’s Pearls.
