Very beautiful triphylla hybrid with dramatic red orange flowers and good foliage. Don't pinch – see hybridiser tab for details.

Tube: Red orange 40A, long, thin.

Sepals: Red orange 40A, slender, 1/2 down, reflexed.

Corolla: Red orange 40A, unflared, long spoon shaped petals, on stalks.

Foliage: Dark green above, dark purple below.

COROLLA: unflared, smooth petal margins; opens & matures red orange (40A); 16mm (5/8") long x 4mm (1/8") wide.

SEPALS: half down, tips reflexed; red orange (40A) upper & lower surfaces; 20mm (3/4") long x 5mm (3/16") wide.

TUBE: red orange (40A); long, thin; 40mm (1 9/16”) long x 2mm (1/16") wide.

STAMENS do not extend beyond the corolla; orange (40C) filaments & anthers.

PISTIL extends 1mm (1/16”) beyond the corolla; orange (40C) style & stigma.

Specialties: triphyllas origin with brightly colored flowers with petals that are on stalks. The plant has beautiful dark green leaves with a red tinge. This is a cultivar nominated by the NKvF.

The trailing triphylla hybrid fuchsia ‘Butterfly Dance’ has in its parentage Göttingen and Our Ted. It has nice, dark green/brown foliage. The flower is characterized by its spoonbill petals. It should not be pinched, or at least only once early in the season, otherwise it will start flowering rather late. It grows without any problems and performs well both as a young or as an older plant. The fuchsia ‘Butterfly Dance’ is named after a after a part of the semi-opera The Prophetess, a composition of the well-known British composer Henry Purcell (late 16th century).
