Fuchsia splendens is widely distributed and has been observed on rare occasions growing as an epiphyte.

Flowers all year in the wild, will do so in the UK if conditions are suitable. As with F. juntasensis, seems to like flowering in the months having shorter days, making growth in summer.

Tube: Coral red, long, somewhat flattened/pinched just past the ovary.

Sepals: Coral red base, rest green, 1/2 down, broad, short.

Corolla: Green, 3/4 flared, short petals.

Section: Ellobium.
