A strong growing, lush, species hybrid (see NKvF description) with long, tubular flowers borne in terminal clusters. This vigorous beauty needs a large pot and minimum temperatures of at least 7°C. Water sparingly in the cooler months.

Often offered as F. fulgens Rubra Grandiflora, or F. fulgens var. grandiflora. Neither are listed in The Plant List (see Links on British Fuchsia Society website). Listed in the RHS Plant Finder as "Fuchsia 'Rubra Grandiflora' (tentative)".

Tube: Orange 32B, long.

Sepals: Orange 32B above, pink 36A below, light green 142B tip, 1/2 down.

Corolla: Orange 41B, 1/2 flared, short, spoon shaped petals, bell shape.

Foliage: Yellowish green when young maturing to lightish sage green with slight red veining, large, finely haired leaves.

Parentage: F. fulgens x unknown.

Sepals: half-down position, symmetry four sides, top and sectional plane, boss dimensions quarter and 142B light green, orange color top 32B, 36A bottom pink, 13x5mm.

Petals: bell-shaped crown, bottom view square, semi outstanding, the petals are normally formed with a tip, whole orange color 41B, 4x4mm.

Filament : yellow, four long and four short stamens, 5x3mm.

Anther: pink.

Pollen: cream.

Style: pink, 85mm.

Stigma: green, clavate.

Flowering: rich bunch.

Flowering: normal.

Bud: triphyllas shape, angular diameter, top opens like a lantern.

Berry: elongated and green, 18x7mm.

Leaf: elliptical shape, top striker foot stomp, slightly serrated edge, matt appearance, velvety and lumpy veins deepens, medium green color top, greyish green, red midrib, veins red, yellow-green petiole.

Growth habit: erect.

Cultivation Method: bush for filtered light, best color in filtered light.

Specifics: According to L. Boullemier (The Checklist of Species, Hybrids and Cultivars) Has this plant attributed to Henderson (page 191). Through research it has been found that the pollen F. Fulgens var. rubra grandiflora is not a species, but a hybrid (cultivar).
